Teach in Hong kong

Hong Kong, made up of mainland Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, is part of China but the formerly independent and densely populated metropolis is a long-established East Asian centre for International business and commerce in addition to being an administrative centre for China.

A former British colony that has developed in harmony with Western mores and open to Western influence far longer than mainland China, Hong Kong offers a very integrated and comfortable living experience for foreign English teachers, despite not having lost any of its authentic Chinese character.

The official languages are English and Chinese, but with a majority Chinese-speaking population, teaching opportunities still abound, inclusive of excellent benefits, easy access to mainland China and some of its own well-known cultural spectacles, such as the annual dragon-boat races. Hong Kong is also a centre for East Asian cuisine and unsurpassed shopping – from night markets to designer and bespoke stores.

Monkey Tree English Learning Center was established in Hong Kong in 2009. There are currently over 60 different locations spread across Hong Kong and Macau. Since its inception, it has grown to become the largest supplementary English provider for children between the ages 3 – 12. Their goal is to infuse a Westernised environment into our classrooms to give children an opportunity to not only learn English the native way, but also to develop intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally.

From building basic vocabulary and conversational skills to learning complex grammar rules and sentence structures, they offer a class to meet all children’s needs. Their courses have been meticulously mapped out by their experienced Curriculum Department and their content is engaging, stimulating and topical. Their trained teachers ensure that this material is presented in a fun and interactive way and that all learning takes place in an immersive environment.

Monkey Tree is currently recruiting passionate and dynamic individuals to join their diverse community of teachers. This is a unique opportunity to form an integral part of an established company that is constantly growing and adapting. At Monkey Tree, they believe that their Human Capital is fundamental to their productivity and thus focus attention on developing their employees’ job satisfaction, stability and career growth. Successful applicants will be granted the opportunity to develop and enhance both young minds and their own in one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world.

Having expanded so rapidly and efficiently over the past 10 years the need for a dedicated team of English associates, curriculum developers, human resources practitioners, centre development executives, graphic designers, accountants and managers is ever growing. They pride themselves on fostering their talent internally and offer numerous opportunities for promotion within the organisation. Teachers have the opportunity to apply for head teaching roles within their centres as well as curriculum development assistants and curriculum executives should they meet the criteria.
