Olivia Horne – South Korea

I contacted Carlos for advice on possible teaching jobs after completing my TEFL qualification in 2021. Although with it being a peak time during the Corona virus pandemic, and therefore having some doubt as to whether an overseas option would be stable, Carlos was very helpful to offer insight and guide me to the best option for a teaching placement in Asia. Based on what I had told Carlos about where I wanted to teach, he sent me a detailed list of possibilities containing basically all the information and requirements for application. Not only did he talk me through the whole process, which reassured me a great deal, Carlos was very responsive and answered every question I had. After my arrival in Korea, Carlos has continued to be of help and has supported me every step of the way for which I am hugely grateful. The school that Carlos has introduced me to – Chungdahm April, is fantastic. Both the Korean and English teachers, and also branch directors are extremely helpful and welcoming. Lesson materials are provided as well as a classroom for each teacher, so you can really make it your own with wall displays- which the children really love! This has to be the best job I have ever had, and so far the most rewarding. I had never considered coming to South Korea before this experience but it’s safe to say I already want to stay more than my year contract. The country is so beautiful, and the city of Cheonan has good links to other major cities via the fast train KTX.
