The first thing that comes to mind for most when they think of China is The Great Wall of China, but this remarkable testament to ancient China is only one of a myriad attractions. Beautiful places such as The Forbidden City and rich spiritual traditions also pull Westerners by the droves to the largest and most populated country in Asia.

Teaching English in China is attractive due to the high demand for English teachers thanks to the country’s emphasis on English education, resulting in competitive salaries, great benefits, a chance to experience a rich culture, and ample travel opportunities within China.

SEAIE – Sichuan Education Association for International Exchange

Sichuan Education Association for International Exchange (SEAIE) is a provincial organization directly under the leadership and guidance of the Education Department of Sichuan Province with its primary missions to promote education exchange and cooperation among colleges, schools and other educational organization in Sichuan and counterparts in other countries and regions. It explores and develops appropriate projects, and provides help and supports for internationalization of education in the whole province. It has formed a close and wide network with Chinese institutions and schools in Sichuan. The focus is on students and teachers mobility.

  • 14,000 to 18,000 RMB per month, based on location, experience, and qualifications. (You can check the current exchange rate at xe.com).
  • Housing allowance – 3000 RMB/Month
  • Flight allowance – Flight Allowance: 6000 RMB
  • Legal working Z-visa and residence support provided
  • Paid holiday: 2 weeks paid summer holidays, 2 weeks paid winter holidays including Spring Festival and all National Holidays
  • Annual salary increase for contract renewal (increase up to 2,000 RMB based on performance)
  • Accidental and severe hospitalization insurance during the contract term

  • Class size: This is dependent on the school.
  • Work hours and schedules: Generally less teaching and office hours for universities. But the salaries tends to be lower of universities. For other positions weekly working hours is about 40 hours this would be including office hours. Generally 5 day work week.
  • Start dates: February and September but some positions may be available throughout the year.
  • Contract length: 12 month contracts only.

Due to work visa requirements, applicants must:

    • Native English speakers with nationality from the USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
    • Bachelor Degree or above, the original document and its Apostille (make sure there is a word of“bachelor”on your certificate and the police clearance is valid at least 3 months from when you applied for it.)
    • Teaching experience is not required.
    • Applicants must be 21 – 50 years old.
    • TESOL/TEFL certificate and it’s Apostille (at least 120H) or 2-years of related teaching experience (a recommendation letter is needed for the latter situation.
    • Police check and it’s Apostille (the police clearance is valid at least 3 months from when you applied for it.

PLEASE NOTE: Tattoos are accepted must be covered during teaching. Unfortunately, our partner schools will not accept Hijabs/Headscarfs.

  • Primarily teaching and delivering lessons, creating lesson plans if necessary, attending meetings, assessing students and providing feedback. Taking part in extra-curricular activities. For teaching younger kids such as at kindergartens maybe there will be extra responsibilities such as taking care of some kids during break or play time et.
