2. WEBSITE AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All intellectual property rights in the TEFL Graduate website and its content, including copyright, course materials, written content, graphics, videos, photographs, assessments, quizzes, presentations, logos, branding and other educational materials, belong to TEFL Graduate Ltd or are used by us under licence.
You may access and use TEFL Graduate course materials solely for your own personal educational purposes in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
You must not, without our prior written permission:
- copy or reproduce Course materials;
- modify or adapt Course materials;
- distribute, publish or sell Course materials;
- upload Course materials to another website or platform;
- share Course materials with another person;
- use Course materials for commercial purposes;
- reproduce substantial portions of the Course for teaching or training purposes; or
- make your login or Course access available to another person.
Unauthorised use of our intellectual property may result in suspension or termination of Course access and may result in further legal action where appropriate.
3. CHANGES TO WEBSITE CONTENT AND PRICES
We may update or amend information published on our website from time to time, including Course content, prices, offers, specifications and other information.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on our website is accurate and current. However, we do not guarantee that all website content will always be complete, accurate or free from errors.
Changes to prices or offers will not affect a Course or service that you have already purchased at an agreed price.
Where we make a material change to a Course that you have already purchased, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the change does not materially reduce the overall nature or value of the Course.
4. TEFL COURSES
4.1 Course Requirements
By enrolling on a TEFL Graduate TEFL Course, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years of age when completing the Course;
- you have a competent level of English and are able to read and understand English-language Course materials; and
- you have access to a suitable internet connection and device required to access the online Course.
5. NON-NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS
Non-native English speakers must have a sufficient level of English to successfully complete the Course and, where applicable, teach English as a foreign language.
We recommend a minimum English language level equivalent to C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for non-native English speakers intending to teach English as a foreign language.
If, during the Course, a tutor reasonably believes that a student’s English-language ability is insufficient to enable them to complete the Course successfully or competently teach English, the matter may be referred to the Director of Studies for review.
Following such a review, TEFL Graduate may require the student to undertake additional work, provide further evidence of English proficiency or, where appropriate, fail the student.
If you are uncertain whether your English-language level is suitable, you should contact TEFL Graduate before purchasing a Course.
6. TUTORS
Students enrolled on the 120-hour or 150-hour TEFL Course will be assigned a tutor.
Students are expected to:
- communicate appropriately with their tutor;
- consider and act upon reasonable feedback;
- make improvements to assignments or other assessed work where requested; and
- comply with the Course requirements and assessment instructions.
Tutor support is provided to assist students in completing the Course successfully. It does not constitute legal, immigration, employment or professional advice.
7. COURSE ACCESS AND COMPLETION PERIOD
You have 180 days to complete a TEFL Graduate TEFL Course, beginning from the date on which you enrol.
If you require additional time, you may purchase an extension.
Course extensions may be purchased at any time before the Course expires and for up to 90 days after the original expiry date.
The following extension prices apply:
- 30-day extension: £15 / $17
- 90-day extension: £20 / $23
- 180-day extension: £30 / $35
There is no limit to the number of extensions that may be purchased, provided the Course remains eligible for extension under these Terms.
If an extension is not purchased within 90 days after the Course expiry date, your account may be closed and Course access may no longer be available.
Extension fees must be paid before the additional Course access period is activated.
Extension periods will normally begin from the date on which the existing Course access expires, unless otherwise agreed by TEFL Graduate.
Extension fees may be changed for future purchases. Any extension already purchased will not be affected by a subsequent price change.
8. PASSING OR FAILING A COURSE
To successfully complete a TEFL Graduate Course, you must complete all required tests and assessments and achieve the required minimum pass mark of 70%.
For applicable quizzes, you will have three attempts.
For applicable assignments, you will have two attempts.
Where you do not achieve the required mark after the permitted attempts, TEFL Graduate may determine that the Course has not been successfully completed.
Where a student fails a Course because they have not met the required assessment or completion standards, no refund will be available solely because the student has failed the Course, subject always to any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
TEFL Graduate may also, at its discretion, decline to enrol a student who has previously failed a TEFL Graduate Course.
9. PLAGIARISM AND ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT
Students must submit their own original work.
Plagiarism includes presenting another person’s work, ideas or written material as your own without appropriate acknowledgement.
If a student is reasonably suspected of plagiarism or other academic misconduct, TEFL Graduate may issue a formal warning and may require the relevant work to be resubmitted.
If plagiarism or academic misconduct continues, the matter may be referred to the Director of Studies.
Depending on the circumstances and seriousness of the matter, TEFL Graduate may:
- require work to be resubmitted;
- refuse to award a pass for an assessment;
- suspend Course access while the matter is investigated; or
- dismiss the student from the Course.
Where a student is dismissed because of serious or persistent plagiarism or academic misconduct, no refund will normally be available, subject to any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
10. ONLINE CERTIFICATE
Once you have submitted your final examination and all required assignments have been graded by your tutor, your online certificate will normally become available to download provided that you have successfully completed the Course and achieved the required 70% pass mark.
The certificate confirms successful completion of the relevant TEFL Graduate Course.
A TEFL Graduate certificate is not a government-issued teaching licence and does not guarantee acceptance by every employer, school, immigration authority, government department or other organisation.
Employers and government authorities may have their own qualification, visa, degree, experience or other requirements.
11. HARD COPY CERTIFICATES
Hard-copy certificates are available at the following prices:
USA / Canada / Europe / Australasia:

UK:
£25 – estimated delivery time 2–3 days
Rest of the World:
$75 – estimated delivery time 5–7 days
An urgent certificate can be sent using DHL:
Urgent DHL certificate:
£60 / $75 – estimated delivery time approximately 5 days.
Delivery to a remote address may incur an additional £20 / $25 charge.
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by postal services, customs, weather, public holidays or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

12. LOST OR REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATES
If you have misplaced or lost your hard-copy TEFL certificate, you may order a replacement through your account or through the TEFL Graduate website.
The cost of a replacement certificate is the same as the applicable price originally paid for the hard-copy certificate, subject to any applicable changes in our certificate pricing.

13. TRANSFERRING A COURSE
A TEFL Graduate Course may be transferred to another person provided that:
- the transfer is requested within 30 days of the original registration; and
- the original student has not completed Unit 1.
Course transfers must be approved by TEFL Graduate before the new student is given access.
A Course may not be transferred after the above conditions have been met.
14. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL – DIRECT PURCHASES
If you purchase a Course directly from the TEFL Graduate website as a consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day cancellation right under UK consumer law.
However, because TEFL Graduate Courses consist of digital content that may be made available immediately after purchase, specific rules apply to cancellation rights for digital content.
If you request that Course content be made available immediately and, before access is provided, you expressly acknowledge that you may lose your statutory right to cancel once the digital content is supplied, the statutory cancellation right may no longer apply to the digital content supplied.
TEFL Graduate will provide the appropriate information and obtain the required acknowledgement during the purchase process where applicable.
If you do not provide the required consent to immediate access, access to the Course may not be provided until the applicable cancellation period has expired, unless otherwise permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Requesting a Cancellation or Refund
If you believe you have a statutory right to cancel or are otherwise entitled to a refund, please contact:

Where a refund is due, it will normally be made using the original payment method.
Where applicable, refunds will be processed within the period required by law.
Where Course access is cancelled and a refund is due, Course access may be suspended or terminated.
15. COURSES PURCHASED THROUGH THIRD-PARTY SELLERS
TEFL Graduate Courses may also be made available through third-party websites, marketplaces, affiliates, promotional websites, voucher providers or other authorised sellers.
Examples may include websites such as Groupon or other third-party promotional platforms.
Where you purchase a Course directly from a third-party seller, the third-party seller may be responsible for taking payment and administering the purchase.
In such circumstances, you should contact the third-party seller directly regarding cancellation, refunds or issues relating to the purchase transaction.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by purchasing through a third party.
The terms and conditions of the third-party seller may also apply to the purchase, including its refund and cancellation procedures.
Where the third party has sold you a voucher or other entitlement to a TEFL Graduate Course, TEFL Graduate may be responsible for providing the Course once the voucher has been validly redeemed, while the third-party seller may remain responsible for the original sale and refund.
16. GROUPON PURCHASES
Where a TEFL Graduate Course is purchased through Groupon, the Groupon terms and conditions applicable to the relevant voucher or purchase will also apply.
Customers who wish to request a refund for a Groupon purchase should normally contact Groupon directly.
Where Groupon’s applicable refund policy permits a refund, Groupon will process the refund in accordance with its terms.
If a Groupon customer experiences difficulty redeeming a valid voucher, they should first contact Groupon or TEFL Graduate so that reasonable steps can be taken to resolve the issue.
Where the relevant third-party seller has refunded a customer’s purchase, TEFL Graduate may require confirmation of the refund or voucher details where necessary to administer the customer’s Course access.
Nothing in this section is intended to remove or restrict any statutory consumer rights.
17. GRAMMAR COURSE
17.1 Requirements
For the TEFL Graduate online Grammar Course, you require an internet connection and a suitable device to access the Course.
17.2 Course Duration
You have six months to complete the online Grammar Course.
The Course period begins from the date of enrolment.
If you require additional time, you may purchase a further six-month extension for £12 / $16.
17.3 Online Certificate
Once you have successfully completed the Grammar Course, you will be able to download your completion certificate.
Hard-copy certificates are not available for the Grammar Course.
17.4 Cancellation and Refunds
Where the Grammar Course is purchased directly from TEFL Graduate, the cancellation provisions in these Terms & Conditions relating to digital content and immediate access apply.
Where the Grammar Course is purchased through a third-party seller, the third-party seller’s applicable cancellation and refund procedures will also apply.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects statutory consumer rights.
18. PAYMENT
Payment may be made using the payment methods advertised on the TEFL Graduate website at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due before access to the relevant Course or service is provided.
If payment is unsuccessful, an order may be cancelled or access may not be activated.
Where a payment plan or instalment arrangement is offered, the applicable payment provider’s terms may also apply.
TEFL Graduate does not ordinarily retain complete payment-card details. Payment processing may be carried out by third-party payment providers using appropriate security measures.
Where appropriate and lawful, payment providers may carry out verification checks to help prevent fraud and unauthorised use of payment methods.
19. COMPLAINTS
We want our students to have a positive experience with TEFL Graduate.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our Course or services, please contact:
We ask that complaints are raised as soon as reasonably possible after the issue occurs so that we have a fair opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
We will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within a maximum of five working days and aim to provide a substantive response or resolution within fourteen days, where reasonably possible.
Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising any statutory rights that may apply.
20. ACCURACY OF MARKETING AND COURSE INFORMATION
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that our website, advertising and other marketing materials accurately describe our Courses and services at the time they are published.
Information relating to teaching English abroad, teaching English online, salaries, employment opportunities, visas, immigration requirements and country-specific requirements may change over time.
Such information is provided for general educational and informational purposes and should not be regarded as a guarantee of employment, income, visa approval, work authorisation or acceptance of a qualification by a particular organisation.
Students are responsible for checking current requirements with the relevant employer, government department, embassy, immigration authority or other appropriate organisation before making decisions based on such information.
Where a material change to a Course is made before the Course commences, we will take reasonable steps to inform affected customers where appropriate.
21. EMPLOYMENT, VISA AND QUALIFICATION DISCLAIMER
Completion of a TEFL Graduate Course does not guarantee:
- employment;
- a particular salary or level of income;
- acceptance by a particular employer;
- acceptance by a school or educational institution;
- a visa or work permit;
- immigration approval;
- professional registration; or
- the right to teach in any particular country.
Requirements vary between countries, employers and individual circumstances.
Students should independently confirm current employment, immigration, visa and qualification requirements before making travel, employment or financial commitments.
22. PERSONAL DATA AND PRIVACY
TEFL Graduate processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.
We may collect and process personal information in order to:
- process Course purchases;
- create and administer student accounts;
- provide Course access;
- administer assessments;
- communicate with students;
- provide tutor support;
- issue certificates;
- process payments;
- prevent fraud and misuse; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Where necessary for the provision of a Course, relevant personal information may be shared with tutors, service providers or other organisations providing services on our behalf.

TEFL Graduate is not responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, security or privacy practices of external websites.
Where you use a third-party website or service, you are responsible for reviewing that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.
24. WEBSITE AND COURSE AVAILABILITY
We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that our website and online learning platform are available and functioning properly.
However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access at all times.
Temporary interruptions may occur because of:
- maintenance;
- technical faults;
- internet or telecommunications problems;
- third-party service interruptions;
- cyber incidents;
- power failures; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a significant technical problem prevents access to a Course, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and restore access or provide an appropriate solution.
25. ACCOUNT SECURITY
You are responsible for keeping your Course login details confidential.
You must not allow another person to use your account.
If you believe that your account has been accessed by another person without your permission, you should notify TEFL Graduate as soon as possible.
We may suspend an account where we reasonably believe that it has been compromised or misused.
26. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION
TEFL Graduate may suspend or terminate Course access where there has been a serious or persistent breach of these Terms & Conditions.
This may include:
- unauthorised sharing of Course access;
- copying or distributing Course materials;
- serious plagiarism or academic misconduct;
- fraudulent activity;
- misuse of the Website;
- abusive behaviour towards staff or tutors; or
- attempts to interfere with the security or operation of the Website.
Where appropriate, we will give the student an opportunity to resolve the issue before access is terminated.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory consumer rights.
27. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, TEFL Graduate will not be responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or that arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We are not responsible for losses arising from:
- misuse of the Course or Website;
- unauthorised sharing of your account;
- failure to follow Course instructions;
- reliance on third-party information or websites; or
- decisions made by you concerning employment, travel, visas, immigration or other matters based on general information provided through our Website or Courses.

28. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL
TEFL Graduate will not be responsible for a failure or delay in providing services where the failure or delay results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include natural disasters, serious technical failures, telecommunications failures, power failures, cyber incidents, government action, war, civil unrest, industrial disputes, public-health emergencies or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented.

29. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our business, Courses, services, technology or applicable legal requirements.
The Terms & Conditions applicable to a Course purchase will generally be those in force when the purchase is made.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that you have already acquired.
Where a change is required by law or is necessary to protect the security or operation of our services, the updated Terms may apply as permitted by law.
30. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision will be modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary.

31. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
