Hanoi (Vietnam): our partner conducts the program from their TESOL/TEFL training centre in the famous ‘Old Quarter: the Ba Dinh District. The training centre is a full English Language Centre, and so candidates complete their courses in a ‘real world’ environment where people are learning English. This also offers the students on-site teaching experience with the practical components of the course.

Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam): students learn in our partner’s original TESOL/TEFL training centre and English Language School, situated on a campus in the Go Vap District. Again, the combination of TESOL/TEFL training centre and English Language school offers a fully immersive experience.

Phnom Penh (Cambodia): the TESOL/TEFL program is conducted on a large campus run by the highly regarded Sovannaphumi School. This is in turn owned and managed by the NTC Education Group which also runs another 25 campuses in Cambodia – where they teach students ranging in age from kindergarten to adult.

Hanoi is the Capital of Vietnam. A large city of 7 million people, Hanoi is on of the most popular destinations in Vietnam, and a favourite place to live and work for TEFL teachers. This is thanks to a rich history that goes back over 1000 years. Beautiful and unique historical landmarks, fantastic street-food, markets and a vibrant 24hour nightlife. Like other big centres in Vietnam, Hanoi is simultaneously laid back and bustling – with a culture that enthrals all those who visit. Apart from the endless array of food stalls, there is also an abundance of coffee shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

One of the best areas to enjoy authentic Vietnamese life in Hanoi is on the ‘Old Quarter’ of Ba Dinh District – where the TESOL/TEFL training centre is located. It’s part residential and part commercial, but it’s as busy (even chaotic) as anywhere – with street stalls and beautiful old architecture. It’s an ideal place to live and work, as it offers real cultural immersion along with cheap transport and tourist-friendly amenities.

Parks with lush greenery and lakes, and with jogging and cycling trails, are also a feature of Hanoi, as are fascinating temples, markets selling everything you could imagine, galleries and museums.

Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon)

Ho Chi Minh City boasts many of the same typically Vietnamese aspect of life and culture as Hanoi, only its possibly even busier! It’s a business hub and a major commercial and technology centre. As such, Ho Chi Minh City is unique in it’s offering of old and traditional, alongside modern high-tech Asia. It’s far more modern in general than Hanoi, with a faster pace of life.

The TESOL/TEFL training centre, along with the centres original English language school, are situated  in the Go Vap district. As with the location in Hanoi, this area is old, beautiful and authentic Vietnamese – include with it’s layout of narrow streets and alleyways. Street food is available everywhere, as are all the other entertainment, shopping, eating and drinking options typical of Vietnamese cities. In fact, the Go Vap district is the location of one of the most famous markets in in the city. There are also many war memorials that document the city’s past in the Vietnam war (when it was Saigon).

    Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia, and is an up and coming commercial and tourist centre with a booming economy. Because of recent rapid growth, it’s a little chaotic – a ‘sleeping giant’ (that’s the city’s nickname) still trying to find it’s feet. However, for the same reason, it’s a treasure chest of opportunity. There are a huge number of teaching jobs available in the city these days, and  Phnom Penh is an ideal base from which to explore this unique country.

The TESOL/TEFL training centre here is the newest of the three centres. It’s also unique in that it is located on the Sovannaphumi School campus. The school is owned and run by the NTC Education Group. NTC has language schools across Cambodia – offering English language learning to more than 20 000 students of all ages – including adults. Phnom Penh really does offer huge opportunities and experiences for teachers.

Like the locations in Vietnam, Cambodia offers amazing street food, coffee shops, entertainment, adventure and sight-seeing – along with incredible temples, and a legendary nightlife.
