Are you ready to build a life in Japan? Interac is currently seeking motivated individuals living outside of Japan to join our team as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for the Spring 2027 school year. This is your opportunity to step into a public school classroom, experience Japan in real life, and receive the supported transition you need to succeed.

●About the role
As an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) with Interac, you will support communicative English and share your culture. You will work alongside Japanese teachers to help students build confidence using English in real, everyday classroom situations. You will not just be teaching vocabulary, you will be part of the daily life of a Japanese public school.

We offer placements across Japan, from vibrant regional cities to rural communities nestled in nature. While we record your location preferences, our goal is to match your skills with the schools that need you most. Regional and rural placements offer lower costs of living, a tighter local community, and a deeper cultural immersion beyond the standard tourist path.

Candidates able to drive under the 1949 Geneva Convention will have access to a wider variety of regional placements

▶Salary between ¥2,400,000 and ¥3,000,000 per year, paid in monthly installments
▶A stable weekday school schedule, typically 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Requirements

●Requirements
▶A bachelor's degree from an accredited university (in any subject)
▶Native-level English proficiency or at least 12 years of education where English was the primary language of instruction
▶Professionalism, flexibility, and a positive, team-focused attitude
▶Must be eligible for a Japanese Instructor visa
▶No visible tattoos or body modifications when wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt and athletic shorts (tattoos on the face, neck, or hands are not permitted)
▶Driving ability is strongly preferred and increases your placement opportunities
